Who are trainers of TechCamp Workshops?

Aaron Sharockman, USA

Aaron Sharockman is the executive director of PolitiFact. Aaron oversees PolitiFact’s operations, development and revenue, assists in our journalistic mission, manages state partnerships and lead efforts to develop new products for PolitiFact users.

Kristen Hare Jairam, USA

Kristen covers local news innovation for the Poynter Institute. Her work for Poynter has earned her a Mirror Award nomination. She, a graduate of the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism, spent 5 years as the Sunday features writer and an assistant editor at the St. Joseph (Missouri) News-Press, and five years as a staff writer covering race, immigration, the census and aging at the St. Louis Beacon. ”

Karin Kase, Estonia

Karin Kase is a Communications Advisor in the Ministry of the Interior in Estonia, where she is responsible for drafting strategic communication plans and advising the Estonian Minister of the Interior and other spokespersons in communications issues.

Martin Turcek, Slovakia

Martin is a journalist, public procurement analyst, and investigative analyst at Transparency International Slovakia and Stop Corruption Foundation. He concurrently works as an investigative reporter at the media outlet aktuality.sk.

He has experience in uncovering government corruption and scandals, analyzing anti-corruption, and promoting transparency and accountability in government policies.

Adam Thomas, The Netherlands

Adam is the currently the Director of the European Journalism Center. He has experience related to startups, traditional media industry, and media development from both the private and non-profit sectors from his previous roles at Storyful and Sourcefabric.

Sarunas Cerniauskas, Lithuania

Sarunas heads the investigative team at 15min, where he contributes to corruption, money laundering, public procurement, and cross-border investigations, including the ICIJ’s Panama Papers and OCCRP’s (Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project) Laundromat.

Glenn Kates, Czech Republic

Glenn is Managing Editor for Digital at Current Time, a new Russian-language TV channel, which has amassed more than 1 million subscribers across social media since its inception. Previously Glenn served as digital editor in Radio Free Europe’s central newsroom. Before that he monitored and wrote about Russian social media at the Moscow bureau of the New York Times.
